The Post 16 Curriculum at Cambridge Park Academy

Our sixth form curriculum builds on the skills and knowledge that have been taught and embedded across the curriculum in previous key stages.

We aim to prepare each learner for the next stage in their life, whether that be employment, further education or supported living within the community.

The curriculum is seen as a bridge on the journey between childhood and adult life, whatever that might entail for each individual student; and is designed to provide students with the skills and knowledge to both enable access and to be successful on the next part of that journey.

Numeracy and literacy skills are embedded throughout each of the Pathways to support application for adult life and the world of work. Our learners will apply their literacy and numeracy skills to ‘real life’ situations.

Our curriculum offer is centred on preparing and equipping our learners with the necessary life skills for students to develop a sense of who they are and their place in the wider world. This development supports their next steps with our 4 learning na life skills pathways fully support preparation for adulthood!

Our 4 Learning & Life Skill Pathways are:

Catering

Eco-Horticulture

Small Animal Care

Skills for Independent Living

The curriculum focuses on students’ personal strengths and prepares our learners for pathways into adulthood. Where appropriate, the curriculum offers recognised accreditation.
