Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and Safeguarding Supervision

Darren Gardiner

Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) is a person-centred approach designed to support individuals, particularly those with learning disabilities or challenging behaviours. It focuses on understanding the reasons behind behaviours by considering factors such as life history, physical health, and emotional needs. PBS aims to help individuals lead meaningful lives by providing the right support for them and their families, promoting positive behaviours, and reducing the need for restrictive practices.

I am a Designated Safeguarding Lead as well as being trained via the NSPCC to offer safeguarding supervision. As well as gaining a wealth of experience in mainstream and specialist settings I have completed PBS coach training via the British Institute of Learning Difficulties (BILD).

As a PBS coach I am able to offer support with behaviours of concern as well as safeguarding Supervision and support.
