Family Engagement 

A warm welcome to all of our families and community partners of Cambridge Park Academy

My name is Iain Ceclich and I am the Personal Development and Transitional Lead at Cambridge Park Academy. I have had the pleasure of working at Cambridge Park Academy for 16 years, supporting both our learners and their families. I enjoy working with families to support students’ learning, and providing a way that families can learn more about our school and the wider community.

My role includes working with children, parents/carers, teachers and other agencies on various issues which may affect a child’s learning and wellbeing. These can include:

• Punctuality and attendance
• Changes in behaviour
• Friendship issues
• Low self-esteem and confidence
• Settling in of new children
• Transitions to a new class, key stage or further education/provision
• Supporting parents/carers with routines, supporting behaviour at home and signposting to local services
• A point of contact for parents and carers on a daily basis

Family Engagement is central to my role and I am passionate about working with young people and families.

Hi, my name is Hayley Whitney-Smith and I have 2 roles within the Academy. I work at 6th form on the Cromwell Road Campus within the Child Protection and Safeguarding team, and I also work within the Family Engagement team alongside Iain Ceclich.

I have worked at Cambridge Park Academy since 2016. Prior to this I worked at another specialised setting for over 10 years. My passion is to support parents, carers and their families. It is difficult having children, let alone children with SEND! I spend a lot of time researching what support is available, activities that are appropriate for our students, and supporting building networks between families and professionals. I believe it is vital that our families get the right support at the right time, whatever this may look like.

Iain and I are here to help in any way we can and if we cannot help, then we will try to find someone who can.
