Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Workshop

This event will take place between 9:30am and 11:30am on 14/05/2025

If you're feeling frustrated by your child's behaviour and looking for support, the Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) Workshop might be just what you need. This workshop is designed for parents and carers to help you better understand and manage your child's behaviour. Here’s what you can expect:

  • Understanding Behaviour: You’ll learn where behaviour comes from and how to interpret your child’s actions.
  • Effective Communication: The workshop will guide you on how to get everyone in the family talking and listening to each other, which is key to creating a supportive home environment.
  • Managing Anger and Upset: You’ll discover why your child may get angry or upset, and how to help them calm down effectively.
  • Body Language: Learn how your own body language can help de-escalate tense situations and promote a calmer atmosphere.
  • Changing Behaviour Patterns: The workshop will provide you with strategies to change any unhelpful patterns of behaviour and encourage positive changes.
  • Practical Ideas for Home: You’ll leave with inspiration and concrete ideas to try at home to improve your child’s behaviour.

The workshop will be held on 14th May from 09:30 to 11:30 at Cambridge Park Academy and will be led by Darren Gardiner, a PBS Coach, who will model positive language and approaches to support your child's behaviour. This is an opportunity to gain insights, share experiences, and find effective strategies to create a more positive, understanding environment for both you and your child. If you’ve attended a previous PBS course, this may not be appropriate for you. However, if you have further concerns or would like more support, please do pop along. This workshop could provide the additional tools and guidance you need.
